Tracking courier deliveries via the Web
By EDWIN YAPP

KUALA LUMPUR: Nationwide Express Courier Services Bhd has launched its web-based Track and Trace system, which enables its customers to track the delivery status of their shipments by logging in to the Internet.

“We believe that with the size of our network and the volume we handle, it is important to continuously improve operational efficiencies and capabilities,” said Rozilawati Basir, Nationwide Express’ executive director of business development.

“And the Track and Trace system represents our commitment to this continuous improvement,” she added.

Rozilawati said that according to a recent survey by the company, its customers cited updates in shipment status as important.

In fact, companies able to meet this criterion would have an upper hand when customers decide who their courier and logistic partner will be, she claimed.

“The launch of our Track and Trace system would enable our customers to conduct business with us via the Internet – and this is where our value proposition lies,” she told reporters at a signing ceremony between Nationwide Express and iRepublics.com Sdn Bhd (www.irepublics.com).

Rozilawati said that Track and Trace, developed by local system integration and web-enablement specialist iRepublics, is designed to interface with Nationwide Express’ backend systems, and has the ability to cater for nationwide linkages.

In addition to the Track and Trace feature, Rozilawati said other enquiries can be made via its website at www.nationwide2u.com.

These enquiries include the opening of new accounts, pick-up arrangements, supplies requests, and customer service enquiries.

As part of its partnership with Nationwide Express, iRepublics said it would also provide value added services such as interactive marketing and branding campaigns, throughout its network of 70,000 corporate members.

“We truly believe in Nationwide Express’ potential to be a regional leader in the logistics and courier business,” said Leng Kean Meng, chief executive officer of iRepublics.
